After more than ten years with Perriams as an employee, John now works as a contractor while travelling overseas. Whether he’s in the French Riviera, the rice fields of Vietnam or the remote regions of the Amazon, he enjoys sinking his teeth into accounting work and supporting clients wherever he is in the world. His areas of interest include international tax, trusts, incorporated societies and navigating the complexities of the GST Act like it’s The Da Vinci Code. John also has vast experience assisting childcare centres and specialised retirement village reporting. Outside of accounting, John has a strong passion for animals. He has volunteered at animal shelters and has ten years experience as a volunteer zookeeper with animals including apes, monkeys, capybara and lemurs; so he’s no stranger to getting his hands dirty. No accounting challenge will be too messy for him. Always keen to try something new, John enjoys racquet sports, surfing, fencing, chess and hiking.
