Make It Happen Charitable Trust

Make It Happen charitable Trust was established on 9th September 2010. The Trust's purpose is to make grants of upto $550 per application to children and their families'  primarily resident in the North West area of Christchurch. The grants are to meet or go towards the costs of assisting in a sport, school activity, the arts, music, community or cultural activity, education and possible medical costs for children whose families' financial means may inhibit them from otherwise doing so.

Make It Happen Charitable Trust is associated with Perriam & Partners.

In a joint effort with Bishopdale Law, a percentage of every fee dollar generated by both businesses is paid into Make It Happen Charitable Trust and it is these funds that the Trust makes available as grants to successful applicants.

The grants are to meet or go towards the costs of assisting in a sport, school activity, the arts, music, community or cultural activity, education and possible medical costs for children whose families' financial means may inhibit them from otherwise doing so. Since 2013 the Trust has approved grants totaling over $26,000 for various activities including flute lessons, hockey fees, hip hop champs, swimming, physical therapy sessions, tag football, drama lessons, school camps, basketball tournaments, to name a few.

Here is a letter from one of our successful applicants …

"Dear Make It Happen Charitable Trust.I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for giving me the privilege of being a part of the Canterbury Under 21 Tag Football Girls. Without the grant I would not have been able to attend the National Tag Football Competitions. It was such an amazing experience and we place 5th equal with Waitakere. Even though they were not the results we were hoping for we played our hearts out and gave everything that we had. I know that with more training the team will be able to take it out next year. Next we will be travelling to the Sunshine Coast in Australia to play in the 2015 Tag Football World Cup in the New Zealand Under 21 Girls Barbarian team. Thank you again for giving me this opportunity. It was such an amazing experience."
